Waspaloy is a nickel base age hardenable superalloy with excellent high temperature strength and good corrosion resistance,notably to oxidation, at service temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C) for critical rotating applications, and up to 1600°F (870°C) for other, less demanding,applications. The alloy’s high-temperature strength is derived from its solid solution strengthening elements,molybdenum, cobalt and chromium, and its agehardening elements, aluminum and titanium. Its strength and stability ranges are higher than thosetypically available for alloy 718.

Why Waspaloy ?

 Age hardening special nickel-based alloy, high effective strength  in 1400-1600°F.Good resistance to oxidation used in  gas turbine engine at 1400-1600 ° F atmosphere. In 1150-1150 ° F, Waspaloy creep rupture strength is higher than in 718.

On a scale of 0-1350 ° F , hot tensile strength for a short period of time is worse than 718 alloy

Waspaloy Application field:

Waspaloy is used for gas turbine engine components that call for considerable strength and corrosion resistance at high operating temperatures.Current and potential applications include compressor and rotor discs, shafts, spacers, seals, rings and casings,fasteners and other miscellaneous engine hardware,airframe assemblies and missile systems.

 

Waspaloy is a precipitation-hardened deformed superalloy, operating temperature does not exceed 815℃.The alloy has high yield strength and fatigue resistance at 760℃~870℃, and high oxidation and corrosion resistance at 870℃, which is suitable for manufacturing WO discs, working blades, high temperature fasteners, flame cylinders, shafts and WO turbine cases.The main products are cold rolled strip and hot rolled sheet, pipe, strip, wire, forgings and bolt fasteners, etc.
